Did you know dogs can’t regulate their body temperature like we do? They don’t sweat but rely on panting to cool down. Lucky was a Labrador-Husky with a very thick, dense double coat and keeping him cool in summer was a constant challenge. We found that a cooling mat helped him cope with the heat, but none of the mats we bought were particularly effective or durable – many were prone to leaks and tears.

This inspired us to create a more effective and durable solution.

At Lucky Paws, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. That’s why we offer a 30-day return policy for all items, unless that item has been personalised / embroidered.

Non-Returnable Items:

• Items which have been personalised or embroidered.
• Sale items and gift cards are also non-returnable.

Conditions for Returns:

• The items must be unused, unworn and unwashed.
• In their original packaging, with all original tags attached.

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you. This process typically takes up to 5 working days.

If your return is approved, we will issue a refund to your original payment method. Please allow up to 10 business days for the funds to appear in your account. Delivery fees are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund amount.

Is the cooling gel inside the mat safe for pets?
Our mat contains non-toxic cooling gel, however whilst it's non-toxic, it's not meant for consumption as it can cause an upset stomach if ingested in large amounts. If your dogs are prone to chewing mats or beds then this mat is not for them.

How long does it takes to "recharge" the dog cooling mat?
Recharge by leaving it in a cool place for approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the environment.

Can I use the reverse side immediately after one side has been used?
No, the mat needs time to recharge, regardless of which side you use next. The cooling gel absorbs heat and requires a resting period to reset before providing effective cooling again.

Why is there sometimes a little condensation inside the cool mat packaging?
It's normal to find a little condensation inside the clear OPP bag that the cool mat is packaged in. This is the result of warm air coming in contact with a cold surface. It means the cool mat is very cold! Don't worry it's not a problem.

When opening the mat, why do some areas feel thicker or thiner than others?
When unpacking the cool mat, it's normal to find that some areas of the mat are thicker or thiner than others. This is just because the mat has been folded up in the packaging for a period of time. Once the mat is opened up and starts being used, the cooling gel will gradually even itself out within the mat.

Why are there white marks along the seams on the back of the dog cooling mat?
These aren't actually marks, they are the result of the very high pressure sealing process to ensure the cool mat is leakproof.

How do I store the cooling mat?
Store the mat in a cool, dry place when not in use. Please remember to keep it away from direct sunlight.

Can the mat be folded for storage or travel?
Yes, the mat is foldable, making it easy to store or carry when travelling.

How do I choose the best size mat for my dog?
Measure your dog’s length from head to tail while lying down, and their height from their paws to the top of their head. Choose the mat size closest to these measurements, but for maximum comfort, we always recommend opting for a larger mat. If your dog falls between sizes, please choose the bigger mat.

Is this mat suitable to use for all dogs?
Yes, but we strongly recommend to avoid using the mat if your dogs are heavy chewers. Whilst the cool mat is built to withstand tough conditions, it's not indestructible, if your dogs are chewers or heavy scratchers, they will be able to destroy it.

Can cats or other pets use the cooling mat?
We do not recommend using the mat for other pets, especially cats due to their sharper claws, which can puncture the outer materials.

Can I use the cooling mat on my dog’s bed?
We do not recommend using the mat on a dog bed or similar soft surfaces, as this can create uneven pressure points, which may damage the mat over time.

Where should I place the dog cooling mat for the best results?
For maximum cooling effect, use the cool mat on a hard, flat surface such as tiles, concrete, carpet, wooden floors, a car boot, or a dog crate.

Can the cooling mat be used outdoors?
Yes, the mat is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, but avoid direct sunlight, as it will negate the cooling effect.
